Tambi\u00e9n se pueden encontrar peque\u00f1as cantidades de radio derivadas de estas fuentes en los suministros de agua subterr\u00e1nea. El radio es un elemento radiactivo y cancer\u00edgeno. La exposici\u00f3n puede suponer riesgos para la salud durante largos periodos de tiempo.<\/li><li>El radio es un cati\u00f3n intercambiable, por lo que puede eliminarse con el mismo proceso que se utiliza para ablandar el agua. Dicho proceso consiste en hacer pasar el agua por un tanque que contiene resina cati\u00f3nica. El cati\u00f3n de radio se intercambia entonces por un cati\u00f3n m\u00e1s tolerable.<\/li><li>El radio tambi\u00e9n coprecipita intr\u00ednsecamente con el manganeso, y puede eliminarse mediante una simple filtraci\u00f3n. El radio y el manganeso se exponen a un oxidante y forman una part\u00edcula insoluble. El radio y el manganeso simplemente se filtran del agua al pasar por un filtro GreensandPlus\u2122, despu\u00e9s de lo cual el filtro se lava a contracorriente para restaurarlo para el servicio posterior.<\/li><li>Por \u00faltimo, el radio puede ser capturado en ciertas superficies de medios inherentemente absorbentes. Con el tiempo, el medio se satura y se considera \"sacrificado\", por lo que debe retirarse y sustituirse por otro nuevo.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
